New England style rifle using a 42″ Rice “C” weight swamped .58 cal that was
cut back from the muzzle 8″ making the barrel 34″ and more of a tapered look.
Customer requested this rather than ordering a custom tapered barrel made.
R.E.Davis “Twigg” lock set into a high grade hard piece of Cherry. Goehring
butt plate. Tapered entry pipe, ramrod pipes, trigger and toe plate were hand
made by me. Patchbox and trigger guard were both heavily modified. Coin
silver thumb piece and silver wire work with period checkering..
Barrel was conned with one of Joe Woods tools and here you can see the
fixed front sight.
